Sydney Royal Easter Show

April 2025

Of course I had to go to the show this year as Sarah was entered into the Young Judges competition, after making it through the district competition. Not only was she in the young judges competition but she also took a cow out to be judged in the way she can control and show a cow.  Big competition and lots of work staying at the show to look after the cows and get them ready to show, lots of fun too.

First is the young judge's competition.  Each competitor is under 25 and from different areas in NSW.  They compete in their local district to see who then gets to compete at State level.  Sarah made it to state level and came 8 out of 15.  Not bad for a kid that has only been working on a dairy farm for 1 year and never had anything to do with cows before then.  Congrats Sarah Well done.

In the first round they judge 3 different types of cows and were assessed on how well they judged each group.  There was an official judge judging the cows too and each person had to get closest to his scores/rating of each cow.

Sarah made it through that round, she then had to speak about the cows that she picked as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and why she chose that cow.  She was amazing I dont think I could have spoken on the mic at such a big occasion.

The 3 girls from the Illawarra area, each made it through to second round and the girl with the sash came in 2nd place.  Sarah is on the right.

Getting a bit challenging.

so gentle and relaxed.

Every day the cows still need to be milked.

Havent been to the show for a few years and loved this one.  Extra special watching Sarah do the things she loves.
